The Biggest Small Business Tax Change Since Eisenhower:  What You Need to Know

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is a massive undertaking, with vast changes, but none as far reaching as the effects on small businesses and pass-throughs, including the personal businesses of financial professionals.  Leon LaBrecque, JD, CPA, CFP, CFA, heads the Michigan Association of CPAs special task force on tax reform and actually lobbied on parts of the new law. Having burrowed into the 1,000 page law, Leon will share some significant new rules, especially the new Code Section 199A, which affects anyone with a Schedule C, E, or F, including partners in pass-throughs of financial services businesses. More importantly, Leon points out what you need to do now, to be ready for your 2018 return, before it’s too late.  As Leon likes to say “The new law is anything but simple.  But it provides some incredible planning opportunities. In addition its complexity makes it even more important to have a sharp advisor.”
